Although there are many crises in the world, there are also many inspiring stories of resilience and change.
As part of the “Stories of Change: Building Resilience, Hope and Action for a Just World” project, we produced three short films portraying people and local communities who are creating hope and shaping change despite local and global crises. Each of the three online workshops below will screen one of these films, followed by a live conversation with the protagonist about the challenges and crises impacting their lives, how resilience emerges, how change becomes possible, and how they have inspired others to take action. We will also discuss the use of the films for educational purposes.
The film is narrated by Abigail Gualinga, vice-president of the Kichwa Pueblo Originario de Sarayaku community in Ecuador. She shares the story of her community’s successful resistance against the extractive industries, as well as alternative ways of living in harmony with all beings, such as the concepts of the ‚Good Life‘ and the ‚Living Forest‘, which foster resilience, hope, and positive change.
